Akçaören

The name of the village is mentioned as Akçaviran in the records of 1927. After 2000, it was connected to the town of Başdere as a neighborhood. It was turned into a village again in 2014, following the closure of Başdere Town Municipality within the framework of the law no 6360, which was adopted on 12 November 2012. The village is 20 km away from Ürgüp town centre.

Aksalur

Aksalur is a town within the borders of Nevşehir city, 8 km east of Ürgüp. Although its establishment is not known exactly, first Ağcaşar Village and then Salur Village were established in 1701 by carving the rocks on the Southeast slope of Topuz Mountain. As a result of the merger of these two villages in 1958, the town of Aksalur was established by being published in the Official Gazette on April 11, 1958. Since the development plan created in 1960 did not meet the needs, this plan was renewed in 1991. In Aksalur, which is closed to touristic activities due to being outside the borders of Cappadocia, the oldest wine production center in the world was found as a result of the studies carried out in 2002. This news was published in Hürriyet Newspaper in the same year.

Ortahisar

Its most distinctive structure is Ortahisar Castle, which was carved during the Hittite period, at altitude of 1200m and at height of 86m. The valley, in which Kavak, İbrahim Paşa and Ortahisar are located, reaches the Damsa Stream valley. Damsa Stream of this valley is called Üzengi Stream. It is a place with natural features of drinking water and mineral waters. There is a castle with a giant fairy chimney in the middle of Ortahisar. Foreigners also call this castle as a chateau. It is hollow inside. There are rooms and halls. Although it is difficult to climb to the top, the beauty of the environment seen from there relieves fatigue. There are also many churches around the town. Talaş Stream attracts a lot of attention in this respect. The houses rise step by step towards the castle in Ortahisar. In recent years, they have built houses made of colored cut stone suitable for the new natural characteristic structure on the plain towards the Nevşehir road. The rocks in the region have been determined as a protected area. It consists of two neighborhoods named Atik and Cedit. Its natural beauties, old historical structures, interesting citrus stores, closing to Göreme rock churches make it popular with tourists. There are extremely interesting monasteries and churches in the Ortahisar valleys. These are Sarıca Church, Cambazlı Church, Tavşanlı Church, Balkan Dere Churches, Hallaç Dere Monastery.
